这座小屋位于一个旅游者众多的海滩，三个方向都被邻居包围着，所以只向大海打开怀抱是很自然的选择。我们决定将那些不想要的景色遮蔽掉，只留下蓝天和大海的美景，试验了很多种庭院的组织方式来找到对蓝天大海最好的取景方式，最终，决定采用这种壳状的形式。它由几个部分围合在一起构成，形成面向大海的半圈，中心庭院中没有任何墙或者屋顶的遮挡。我们可以想象到人们从海滩漫步到这个壳屋的景象，这座建筑采用了木结构，以富有韵律的褶皱状曲线为特色。
Situated on a populated bathing beach， the site is surrounded by neighboring houses on three directions. It was a natural decision to open up the house towards the sea.We decided to go with the idea of obstructing the disturbing view and framing the beautiful view towards the sea and the sky at the same time. We experimented with various types of courtyard style structure in order to find a way to frame the sea and the sky. And we eventually came up with this shelter-like structure. It is composed of a sequence of structural members that wraps around the void space in middle， without any wall or roof.From this structure we created a spatial image of a person wandering into a seashell. Seashore Shell House is a timber shell structure featuring the curvilinear rhythmic sequence of pleat-like structural members.
